Mandatory Post

I would say I’ve had an average experience with wine. I can name a few of the basic varieties and varietals, and I’ve had a fair few glasses with family at holidays and that sort of thing, but I am by no means an expert. My mom drinks Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc pretty often, but most of us only drink wine on special occasions. My grandparents always have a few bottles(mostly red, mostly Cabernet Sauvignon) on hand, so I often have a glass of two with/after dinner when I’m at their place.

I much prefer red wines to whites. My personal favorite is probably Joseph Carr Cabernet Sauvignon, and my least favorite is probably Barefoot Chardonnay. I have never had a rose, but I plan to have at least one as part of my blog posts this semester.

I hope to learn more about what makes each wine taste unique, from the different types of grapes, to the region and weather. I am also excited to learn the wine-tasting lingo. I really want to be able to “correctly” review wines and give an effective, intelligent opinion about the wine I’m tasting.
